Review:

Nose - A bit of vapor but a good smell nonetheless. 2nd and 3rd smells were much easier on the vapor and the aroma is something similar to a honey mixed with a field of mown hay...it makes me homesick. There is a light caramel note but no vanilla or cinnamon.

Rub - Definitely smell the grains on this sample method. The rye is abundant and delicious. One of the least offensive smelling whiskeys I have sampled...easy to breathe as though it were the source of oxygen in the room. I went from smelling my whiskey rubbed hands to nearly rubbing it all over my face to get every note....I've got problems!

Taste - High West hit another homerun with this one. Very subtle hitting the palate. No heat on the lips, next to no heat on the tongue, a smooth finish where a mild spice presents itself. Flavor closely matches that of the nose with the rye and yeasty flavor...however, you can pick up some vanilla, cinnamon, and honey when sipping it. I have to make a trip to Utah to give High West some high fives!

Is it worth the $?

I got this at the exchange for $60....it is worth it. Holy shit it's good...pouring a second....CHANGING FIVE HUNDRED!!!
