Heaven's Door

Intro:

A unique mash bill from Tennessee, our bourbon utilizes 30% “small grains” to complement the character imparted from spending nearly 7 years in American oak barrels. The result is smooth and lasting with notes of vanilla and baked bread layered over a bed of toasted oak.

Review:

Nose - At first a bit on the chemically side too…maybe my nose is permanently damaged from Stolen Whiskey that I reviewed just prior to this. Follow on sniffs were much more inviting. Vanilla shines the brightest on the sniff test…maybe a light spice too.

Taste - First sip, not much burn throughout the entire process; lips to finish. A strange flavor at first with a dull finish. Not bad, just a bit lackluster. The finish has a good spice emergence that lingers on the tongue. Follow on sips are much better. I give you a B-, Bob Dylan!

Is it worth the $?

I got this for $45….you definitely can find better bourbon for half the price. A collector’s item for sure.
